After consideration and discussion, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 3’ from the required lot line setback of 10’ for an addition to an existing dwelling 7’ from the lot line noting that the proposed addition will be no closer to either the lot line or the ordinary high water level than the existing structure and noting that the proposed addition is to the rear of the existing structure. Hardship is a substandard lot of record. David and Beverly Skyberg - Denied David and Beverly Skyberg, Wahpeton, ND, requested a variance to cover more than 25% of the total lot area with impervious surfaces and a variance of 5’ from the required drainfield setback of 10’ for the location of an existing drainfield 5’ from an existing building/garage. After consideration and discussion, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested for the drain field as it is to close to an occupied building. After additional consideration and discussion, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to deny the applicant’s request to cover more than 25% of his total lot area with impervious surfaces.
