Erie, KS, requested a variance to be allowed to repair and upgrade an existing cabin and to perhaps add a porch meeting the shoreland ordinance requirements. The applicant owns a lot with 50' of lake frontage. The required lake frontage for a general development lake is 100'. The property is described as part of Government Lot 1, Section 2 of Clitherall Township on West Battle Lake. Everett Sherman represented the applicant at this hearing. The audience was polled with Robert Sherman and Wayne Tucker speaking in favor of this variance request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested. The lot has adequate square footage and the granting of this variance will not increase the pressure on this lake. The granting of this variance will not establish a precedent in the immediate district.
