June 3,1999 Page 3 Mark Stephen Walz - Approved Mark Stephen Walz, Perham, MN, requested a variance to add a second story to the entire cabin and attached garage, starting 10’ from the front (lakeside) of the cabin, and a variance to extend the north end of the attached garage 8’. The garage extension will be 6’ from the west lot line requiring a variance of 4’. The current setbacks from the west lot line are 25’ at the front corner (southwest) of the cabin, 8’ at the rear corner of the main cabin and 7’ from the northwest corner of the existing garage. Currently 27% of the total lot area is covered with impervious materials. After the addition to the existing garage 28% of the total lot area will be covered with impervious materials. The applicant is also requesting a variance of 3% from the maximum allowable impervious surface coverage of 25%. The property is described as part of Government Lot 2, Section 26 of Gorman Township by Little Pine Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, second by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve the second story addition and the garage extension with the following conditions: 1. the garage extension can be no closer to the lot line than the nearest point of the existing garage, which is 7’, and 2. no more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces after the proposed changes have been made. It should be noted that no part of the proposed development will be any closer to the lot line or the ordinary high water level than the existing structure.
