from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for an 8’ by 8’ addition to an existing dwelling 43’ from the
ordinary high water level and a variance of 3T from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for a 4’ by

Glenn and Yvonne Rogness - Denied
Glenn and Yvonne Rogness, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance “to sub-divide 15 plus acres by
metes and bounds into 6 lots. Lots being less than 5 acres. To be able to make 4 lots on the lake and
2 back lots with no lake access. The 4 lake lots would each have 143’ of lake frontage. Square
footage would vary from about 66,000-sq. ft. to 139,000 sq. ft. Each lot would have access to either
township road or county road. The two back lots would have access to county road. The back lots
would have approximately 160,000 sq. ft. If this is approved I would remove 6 cabins off the lake front
and 3 cabins would remain: one each on lot 4, lot 5 and lot 6. The lots next to me on the N.W. are 150’
lots; to the S.E. up to the Catholic church property there are 10 lots: 1 is 150’; 4 are 100’; 4 are 50’; and
1 is 75’.’’ The property is described as Lot 7, Block 1, West Shady Nook Beach and part of Government
Lots 2, 7 and 8, Section 15 of Maine Township by Pickerel Lake. The audience was polled with Steven
Miletto speaking against the request and with Jim Mullen and Pat Johnson requesting additional
information relative to the variance requested. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts,
seconded by Rod Boyer and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested noting that the
applicants’ basic proposal is very good, but this type of development should be referred to the Planning
Commission for their consideration and approval. It should be noted that the Board of Adjustment did
not vie\^he 143’ width of the lake lots as a problem.

variance of 31 ’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for a 4’ by 10’ pump house
approximately 69' from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 1, Pleasant View
Beach, East Battle Lake in Girard Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or
against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by George
Walter and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 57’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 100’ for an 8’ by 8’ addition to an existing dwelling 43’ from the ordinary high water
level and a variance of 3T from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for a 4’ by 10’
pump house 69’ from the ordinary high water level noting that neither addition is any closer to the
ordinary high water level than the existing structure.
Kimberly D. Beisser - Approved
Kimberly D. Beisser, ET AL, C/0 E.D. Mashek, West Des Moines, lA, requested a variance of 49’ from
the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for the addition of a 10’ by 20’ screened porch to
an existing cabin 26’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as the South 72 of
Lot 2 and all of Lot 3, Weston’s First Addition to Fernecliffe Beach, West Battle Lake in Girard
Township. June 11,1998 meeting - The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by David Flolmgren and
unanimously carried, to table per the applicant’s written request this application for variance hearing
until the August 6, 1998 meeting of the Board of Adjustment. August 6,1998 meeting - The audience

at the public hearing. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Cecil
Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 49’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 75’ for the addition of a 10’ by 20’ screened porch to an existing cabin 26’ from the
ordinary high water level noting that the proposed screened porch will be no closer to the ordinary high
water level than the existing dwelling.
