Area to be cut is 17’ wide at cabin extending 25' out toward lake and expanding to 26’ wide at ridge. Maximum depth 6’. This would result in 94 cubic yards of earth moving. Stepped retaining walls (two 3’ walls with 3’ set back) would be used on each side. Even after (if) this approved over 60% of our littoral beach area will be in its natural state. Native plantings will be used to mitigate runoff. Break: At 8:26 the Commission took an 8 minute break. Gerv J. Knuttila - Denied: A Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant): This is an After-The-Fact Request. I got this property on 7-25-07. On 7-25-07 this property had a sand beach on the lakefront approx. 85’ on the lakefront by 50’ - 55’ deep from the shoreline. I put approx. 45 yards of new washed sand over the old existing sand beach with out obtaining the proper permit to do so. The sand beach that I made is now 75’ on the shoreline & 33’ deep from the shoreline. I established new grass on the excess of the old sand beach, then having less sand beach area now than I had when I got this property. The new washed sand was put down in July 2008 at the same time I had an underground sprinkler system installed. My request is to keep the sand in place. The property is described as Lots 1, 2 & W 6T of Lot 3 BIk 1 Brightwood Shoreline, not to be split and GL 5 E of CR #35 ex S 500’, Section 34 of Star Lake Township, Dead Lake (56-383), NE.
