Motion: A motion by Trites, second by Lachowitzer to allow the three units located in the
vicinity of the barn and grain bin as proposed (the barn and grain bin are to be removed).
Although this exceeds the numbers allowed by the Shoreland Management Ordinance
(SMO), the impervious surface area will be reduced. Voting: All Members in favor,
except Boyer.
Martin Engineering / “Truly Natural” - Approved As Presented:
A Conditional Use Permit Application stating; Tenant store Truly Natural renting 2 rooms
(approx. 400 sq. ft.) on north side of office building for retail sales of gifts and natural
bath and body products. Store is open daylight hours only various hours between 9 a.m.
and 5 p.m. from May through September, each year, and open various days (currently.
Wed. through Sun.). Signs are located on the fence, the west side of the building and
near the entrance on the north side of the building. The property is described as Martin
Knoll Lot 1, Section 1 of Scambler Township: Pelican Lake (56-786), GD.
Catherine Trill represented the Application.
Motion: A motion by Maske, second by Zimmerman to approve as presented. Voting:
All Members in favor.
Break: At 7:15 P.M., the Commission took a 15 minute break since they were ahead of
schedule.
Donald W. Luhning / Roger Luhning - Approved With Conditions:
A Conditional Use Permit Application to upgrade an existing easement road to meet
County specifications. This road will service a proposed plat, to be filed at a later date, of
“Elwill Beach Second Addition”. Request to construct the road this fall. The property is
described as Pt of Gov. Lot 2 (15.06 Ac) and Pt Gov. Lot 1 & 2 (1.11 Ac), Section 5 of
Girard Township: Ethel Lake (56-193), RD.
Roger Luhning and Lament Luhning represented the Application.
Jim Trites (Girard Township Supervisor) expressed concerns regarding the need of a cul-
de-sac.
Motion: A motion by Trites, second by Schwartz to approve as presented, with the
following conditions: 1. The cul-de-sac is fully constructed to County specifications. 2.

McConachie Addition / Glenn Rogers - Approved With Conditions:
A Preliminary Plat of "McConachie Addition” consisting of 5 single family residential lots,
1 block: and a Conditional Use Permit Application to build a new roadway to County
Specs to create access for the proposed lots. The property is described as Pt Gov. Lot
7, Section 27 of Hobart Township: Long Lake (56-388), RD.
Motion / September 11, 2002: A motion by Bergerud, second by Lachowitzer to table, at
the Applicant’s request, to October 9, 2002 to allow the Applicant until September 25,
2002 to do the following: 1. Provide a new map that identifies the topogr^3pi(iic elevations
and the top of the bluff. 2. Provide a typical cross section of the
