Printers • Fergus Falls, Minnesota September 2, 2004 Page ff 4 Wallace and Betty Diekman - (Continued) After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to authorize development up to the building,line when applying the building line from the southwest corner of Morris’ structure to the northwest corner of the attached structure bn the Hovden’s property and to approve a variance;to place the septic system less than 20’ from the road right-of-way and/or into the road right-of-way as authorized by the Edna Township Board of Supervisors with the condition that the existing metal shed must be placed in a location that is at least 10’ from the side lot lines and in a location that is no closer to the ordinary high water level then the lake side of the proposed development. The Board noted that the metal shed does not need to meet the road right-of-way or septic systems setback requirements. The Board also noted that no more than 25% of the total lot area could be covered with impervious surfaces. The variances as approved will allow the applicants to enjoy the same rights and privileges as others in this immediate area. Pelican Township and Curtis Bahma - Approved as requested. Prairie Lake in Pelican Township, requested a variance to install a drain field in the non-traveled portion of the 66’ road right-of-way and to install the septic/lift tank less than 10’ from the road right-of-way. Randall Mann, Chair, polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as described in the variance application dated August 8, 2004. The Board noted that there is no other location for the proposed system and the approval is consistent with past actions of the Board of Adjustment. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Michael Conlon and unanimously carried, to declare Lot 14 Block 2, Juniper Hills, a substandard back lot, buildable for residential development. The variance as approved is consistent with past action of the Board of Adjustment. Break - 8:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Marvin and Bette Le Noue - Approved as requested. (8:30 p.m.) Marvin & Bette Le Noue, part of Government Lot 4, Section 1 of Everts Township by Otter Tail Lake, requested a variance of 17’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for a second story addition located 58’ from the ordinary high water level. Randall Mann, Chair, polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Michael Conlon made a motion, seconded by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 17’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for a second story addition as depicted on the drawing submit with the variance application. The proposed second story addition will be 58’ from the ordinary high water level and will not obstruct the view from the adjacent properties.
