Wayne Pudwill - Withdrawn
Wayne Pudwill, Detroit Lakes, MN, requested a variance to cover 31% of the total lot area with
impervious surfaces. The new addition and concrete will add approximately 782 more square feet.
There will be one driveway taken out equaling about 429 square feet. The 782 square feet added less
the 429 square feet removed leaves a net increase of 353 square feet. The addition of 353 square feet
to the remaining impervious surfaces equals 9,282.8 square feet or 31% of the total lot area. This
compares to 29.9% of the total lot area, which is presently covered, with impervious surfaces. The
property is described as Lots 19, 20 and 21, Midland Beach, Pelican Lake in Dunn Township. March
26,1998 meeting - The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
discussion and consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Craig Anderson and
unanimously carried, to table the applicant’s request until the April 2, 1998 meeting to allow the
applicant an opportunity to consider other alternatives and plans. April 2,1998 meeting - After
discussion and consideration, the applicant requested permission to withdraw his variance application.
The Board of Adjustment acknowledged and accepted this request.
Peter Ziolkowski - Approved

of 6’ 4” from the 18’ maximum height of a non-dwelling structure for the construction of a 56’ by 63’
shop having an overall height of 24’ 4”. The property is described as part of Government Lots 6 and 7,
Section 31 of Corliss Township by an unnamed lake (Robinson). The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. March 26,1998 meeting - After consideration, motion was made
by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 6’ 4”
from and 18 maximum height of a non-dwelling structure for the construction of a 56’ by 63’ shop

Craig Anderson, seconded by Les Estes and unanimously carried, to table the remaining portion of Mr.
Ziolkowski’s variance request until the April 2, 1998, meeting while he reviews the requirements for a
performance bond. April 2,1998 meeting - After discussion and consideration, motion was made by
Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and carried with Leona Zimmerman abstaining, to approve a
variance of 20’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the construction of a
dwelling 180’ from the ordinary high water level and to permit the existing dwelling to remain in use
during the construction period and to allow a reasonable period of time after the construction of the new
dwelling for the demolition of the old dwelling by the applicant with the condition that the applicant must
provide a performance bond when the site permit for the new structure is obtained and the performance
bond must be in an amount and for a period of time as specify by the Land and Resource Department.
