Moriarty - Denied (7:57 p.m.) Motion was made by Mark Steuart, second by Cecil Femling and carried with Steve Schierer, Paul Larson and Randall Mann voting no, to deny the variance as requested as there is adequate room to move the proposed structure back to a location which would be behind the string line. Those voting against the motion to deny noted that the applicants’ proposal placed the new structure significantly further from the lake than the existing mobile home. airman/otter Tail County Board of Adjustment Permit(s) required from Land & Resource Management Yes (Contact Land & Resource Management) No '03-Copy of Application Mailed to Applicant And the MN DNR LR Official/Date bk 0501-001 305,391 • Victor Lundeen Cc., Printers, Fergus Falls, MN • 1-800-346-4870 Gentlemen, At this meeting we are trying to receive a variance on our property at 35302 Northern Lights Road, or Lot 3, DeShane Beach in Dead Lake Township. This is a very beautiful lot but it does have one problem and that is a bluff close to the lake that is about 10 feet high. At the present time there is an old trailer house on the site setting atop the bluff. What we would like to do is improve the looks of all of this by removing the trailer house and replacing it with a new house. We would also like to be able to see the lake from our new house not the back of the bluff. In doing this we do not want to change the shoreline in any way just improve the view. What we would like to do is situate the house at the about same angle that the trailer house is in accordance with the lake shore, but back far enough that we can build it with a walk out basement, and be able to step out of the front door onto the bluff We may need to bring in some fill but not as much as if we moved the house further back. The present trailer house is equally set at 75 feet from the water line. We would like to place our house at about 105 feet from the shoreline. In order to do this we need to place the west, and only the west comer of the house fifteen feet ahead of the string line, at 110 feet from the shore. At the East comer of the house the string line would be 105 feet and the west comer string is at 125 feet. In reference to the neighbors, they cannot see over the bluff now and possibly would be able to see more with the trailer house removed. We would also like you to take into consideration that we would not look any closer to the lake as the lake shore juts farther out into the lake just at our site. If two people were to stand on the shore, one 100 feet east of the property and the other 100 feet west of the property they would not be able to see each other because of the land protmsion. Thus when the measurement of distance from the lake is taken, our new house would in comparison, be further from the lake then the neighbors. ilA3.‘ Scalp:grid(s) equals feet, or Jnch(es) equals feet Please use this sheet for the required scale drawing of your proposal.
