After consideration and discussion, Michael Conlon made a motion, second by Les Estes and unanimously carried, to
approve the proposed development with the following conditions: 1.) the proposed development must stay behind the
building line, and 2.) no more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces.

David and Donna Damlo, part of Government Lots 8 and 9, Section 6 of Star Lake Township by Femling
Lake, requested a variance of 20’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the
replacernent of an existing 6’ by 22’porch with an 8’ by 30’ pprch '180’ from the ordinary high water level.
The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After
consideration and discussion, Cecil Femling made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously
carried; to approve a variance of 20' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the
. replacement of an existing 6’by 22’ porch with an 8’ by 30’ porch 180’ from the ordinary high water level.
The Board noted that the proposed 8’ by 30’ porch will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than
the existing structure.

Leo E Myxter Jr. Et Al, Lot 2 Freeman’s Beach First Addition, Dead Lake in Dead Lake Township,
requested a variance from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the replacement of an
older, storm damaged dwelling with a 28’ by 4T dwelling and to add a 12’ by 24’ attached garaged. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance aS requested.. After consideration
and discussion, Michael Conlon made a motion, second by Les Estes and unanimously carried, to approve
the proposed'development with the following conditions: 1.) the proposed development must stay behind
the building line, and 2.) no more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces.
Roger Peterson - Approved the variance as requested. (6:55 p.m.)
Roger Peterson, Lot 1 Block 1 Buehler Addition, Sybil Lake in Hobart Township, requested a variance from
the setback to the road right-of-way in order to install a septic system. The drain field will be at the road
right-of-way and extend 5’ into the road right-of-way. Hobart Township has approved the proposed
location. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After
consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion; second by Steve Schierer and unanimously
carried, to approve the variance as requested noting that there is no other place to locate the proposed
septic system and noting Hobart Township approval of the proposed location. Hardship is a substandard
, lot of record and the terrain of the applicant’s property.
Adeline Erickson - Denied. (6:58 p.m.)
Adeline Erickson, Lot 14 Block 2 and vacated road and part of Government Lot 8, Section 4 of Dunn
Township::by Pelican Lake, requested a variance to put up a new 26’ by 28’ garage on the same site where
the old garage is collapsing. Need variance because impervious surface ratio will be greater than 30%.
Jim Erickson represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer
made a motion, second by Randall Mann and carried with Paul Larson and Michael Conlon voting.no, to
deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship unique to the property had been shown that
would allow, for the granting of the variance as requested and noting tfiat the applicant can obtain a
reasonable use of her property without exceeding the allowable impervious surface coverage.
Michael Ternus - Approved the variance as requested. (7:30 p.m.)
Michael Ternus, Lots 1 and 2, Boedigheimer Development First Addition, Otter Tail River in Otto Township,
requested a variance of 58’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 150’ for a 10’ by 60’
addition to both side of the existing structure located 92’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience
was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. A letter from Joe and Diana
Saenger in support of the variance as requested was read for the record. Joe and Diana Saenger although
supportive of the applicant’s request did express a concern with the potential future use of the structure.
