Robert Loerzel - Variance application approved with a modification. (7:21 p.m.)
Robert Loerzel, Lots 4 and 5 Klein Adams Point, Marion Lake in Dead Lake Township, requested the following:
Requesting to add 7’ by 7’ shed on an 8’ by 8’ wood base. 65’ from ordinary high water level and 2’ from propeity
line, hi hue with cuixent buildings and neighbors building with their setback on the south side of my property. The
audience was polled with Grant Colling speaking for the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration,
Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Rick Wilson and unanimously canied, to approve the addition of a 7’ by 7’
shed on an 8’ by 8’ wood base 65’ from the ordinai-y high water level and 3’ from the propeify line. This is perhaps
the only location available for the proposed structure. The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant
any other variances for the proposed or ftature development.
Deb and Vern Tomanek- Variance application approved as requested. (7:25 p.m.)
Deb and Vein Tomanek., part of Government Lot 5, Section 18 of Edna Township by Big McDonald Lake, requested
the following: 2 requests. Setback and impervious surface. Setback decrease- required is 100’. Request a 36.5’
variance for the placement of a 12’ by 24’ deck at 63.5’ to the ordinaiy high water level. The dwelling meets the
building line - 51.5’, but will be placed at 75’. Impervious surface - we are we|J under the allowable building area @
7.8%. The existing public road is approximately 90% on our property. We are requesting an increase of 859 square
feet of imperious surface area or 2.8%. The applicants were represented by Noah Riley and Jim (missed last name and
recording not clear). The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After
discussion, and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Thomas Lee and, unanimously carried, to
approve the variances as requested for the proposed development as stated in the variance application dated August
15, 2016 and as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application. The hardship/practical difficulty is
the location of the existing road. The applicants proposed development is similar to other development in this
immediate area., There will be no net increase in impervious surface coverage upon completion of the proposed
development.' The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed or
future development.
Randy Elmer - Variance application approved as requested with a condition. (7:30 p.m.)
Randy Elmer, part of Government Lot 3, Section 15 of Eagle Lake Township by Eagle Lake, requested the following:
According to County ordinance the structure setback on Eagle Lake (GD) is 75’ from ordinaiy high water. The
applicant is seeking approval for a structure being 37.7’ from the ordinai-y high water. The applicant is also seeking
approval to build a structure within 11.2’ from a township road right-of-way. County prdinaiice requires a 20’ setback
from a township road right-of-way. The applicant is also seeking approval to cover 1,120 square feet within the shore
impact zone where the County ordinance specifies a maximum of 260’ square feet. Dan Ness, Contractor appeared
with the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as
requested. A letter from the Eagle Lake Lakeshore Association requesting the denial of the variances as requested
was read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Rick Wilson made a motion, second by Thomas Lee and
unanimously carried, to approve the variances as requested for the development as deseribed in the varianee
application dated August 17, 2016 and as depicted on the drawings submitted with the variance application with the
condition that the applicant reduce the length of the proposed driveway/parking area by 8’ for a 160’ square feet
reduction. Hardship/practical difficulty is a substandard lot of record; The variances as approved will provide the
applicant with a reasonable use of his property. The approval is eonsistent with past actions of the Board of
Adjustment. The proposed development is an improvement to the property and is reducing the amount of imperious
surfaee coverage within the shore impact zone. The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any
other variances for the proposed or future development.

Variance for Shed Placement
I removed the Maintenance Free 7'x7'shed on an 8'x8' platform/base that was 55' from OHWL and 2'
from lot line.
I will be removing a Pine Tree that is 8' in diameter, about 70' from OHWL and 0' from the lot line.
Where the tree was I would like to reconstruct the 7'x7' Maintenance Free Shed on the 8'x8'
platform/base 65' from the OHWL and 2' from the lot line.
Examples:
My neighbor on the south side of my lot (the side that the shed is going on) has a shed about 75' from
the OHWL, 2.5' from the lot line and about 5' from the Road Right of Way.
My neighbor on the North side has a Maintenance Free Shed 45' from the OHWL and 2' off the lot line.
Thank You
Robert Loerzel
