The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, March 5, 1987,
with the following persons in attendance:
George Walter
Marcus Wiechmann
Roger Marty
Rc±)ert Schwartz
Craig Anderson
John Everts
Tim Greip, Land & Resource Office
Dave Hauser, Assistant County Attorney
CALL TO ORDER
ALL PRESENT
Chairman Walter opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m., and iitmediately turned
the Chair over to Secretary Sylvia Bergerud vAio requested nominations
for Chairman for the year 1987. Marcus Wiechmann nominated George
Walter for Chairman for the year 1987. After the second call for nom
inations, motion was made by Marcus VJeichmann, seconded by John Everts
and unanimously carried, that nominations cease, and George Walter was
declared Chairman.

Chairman Walter then called for nominations for Vice Chairman. John
Everts notiinated Craig Anderson. Hearing no other nominations for Vice
Chairman, John Everts moved, J'larcus Weichmann seconded, and carried,
that nominations cease and Craig Anderson was declared Vice Chairman
for 1987.

Uie following variance requests were considered:
Robert A. Spanswick, Underwood, MN, requested permission to place a roof
over an existing deck, 55' from lake, on Lot 2, Denwood Acres, First
Addition, Pickeral Lake, Maine Township. After consideration, motion
was made by George Walter to deny, no adequate hardship shown. The
motion was seconded hy Marcus Wiechmann and carried upon the following
vote:
Yes - Walter, Wiechmann, Schwartz, Anderson
No - Roger Marty
Abstaining - John Everts
SPANSWICK - DENIED
Peter & Colleen Stanton, Osseo, M^J, requested permission to build a cabin
in G.L. 6, Section 25, Dead Lake Township, 150' 'from Lake Alice rather
than the 200' as required. After consideration, motion was made by Craic
Anderson to deny, no adequate hardship shown. The motion was seconded
by Marcus Wiechmann and carried upon the following vote:
All voting in favor
5TANTC»^ - DENIED
Ernest J. Leramerman, Mound, MN, requested permission to constrxict a 6' x
16' screened porch 69' from Pickeral Lake, and construct a fireplace
on the outside of the cabin, 4' from tl- lotline, on Lot 11 and SJj of
10, Block 3, Amended Plat of Haggstrcm l ach, and part of Lots 13 Si 14
of Haggstrcm Beach Addition, Maine Township. After consideration,
with Don Roberts and Dorothy Nordick speaking, motion was made by
Craig Anderson to approve, using the "string test", between the two
larger cottages on either side, the Robert?: cottage and the former King cottage, rather than the Stdi^t garage, bui.i.Jing no closer to the lake
than a line drawn between said cottages. The motion was seconded by
Roger Marty and carried updfi the follow'ing vote:
All voting in favor
Motion was then made
