After consideration and discussion, Michael Harris made a motion, second by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to approve a
variance of 80’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the placement of the proposed addition as described
in the variance application dated May 1, 2013 and as depicted on the submitted drawing 120’ from the ordinary high water level
with the condition that impervious surface coverage after completion of the proposed project cannot exceed the pre-project

Thursday, June 13, 2013
The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, June 13, 2013, with the following persons in attendance:

Called to Order - Steve Schierer, Chair called the meeting of the Board of Adjustment to order at 6;30 p.m.
Minutes Approved - The Board of Adjustment approved the minutes of June 13, 2013 meeting as mailed.
The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance:
Michael S. and Verdelle K, Stinar Family Trust - Variance application was approved with a condition. (6:32 p.m.)
Michael S. and Verdelle K. Stinar Family Trust, part of Government Lot 2, Section 16 of Dead Lake Township by Dead
Lake requested the following: Requesting a variance of 80’ to enlarge existing bathroom to handicap bathroom.
Addition 120' from ordinary high water level. Our current impervious is at 25.2% to increase to 25.78%. Requesting a
variance of .58% for impervious coverage. The audience was polied with no one speaking for or against the variance
as requested. After consideration and discussion, Michael Harris made a motion, second by Thomas Lee and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 80’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the
placement of the proposed addition as described in the variance application dated May 1, 2013 and as depicted on
the submitted drawing 120’ from the ordinary high water level with the condition that impervious surface coverage
after completion of the proposed project cannot exceed the pre-project impervious surface coverage.
Clayton and Theresa Skretvedt - Variance application was approved as requested. (6:42 p.m.)
Clayton and Theresa Skretvedt, Lot 1 Block 1, John’s Cove First Addition, Pickerel Lake in Maine Township,
requested the following: Request to have lot declared buildable for residential purposes. Lot originally created in
1979. Garage previously defined as a residence and it is not!! Needs to be re-classified. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Rick Wilson made
a motion, second by Michael Harris and unanimously carried, to declare Lot 1 Block 1 John’s Cove First Addition as a
buildable lot for residential purposes. The variance as approved is consistent with past actions of the Board of
Adjustment. The variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for current or future
development. The lot size and planned use is consistent with the immediate area.
Dennis and Shirley Davidson - Variance application was approved as requested. (6:45 p.m.)
Dennis and Shirley Davidson, Lots 2 and 3 Gulliver’s Traveis, Paul Lake in Edna Township, requested the following;
Proposing to add a craft room/office to our home. The addition will be 4’ from the top of the bluff, requesting a 26’
variance from the 30’ setback requirement. The addition is 88’ from the ordinary high water level, requesting a 12’
variance from the 100’ setback requirement. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
variance as requested. After consideration and discussion. Ward Uggerud made a motion, second by Thomas Lee
and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 26’ from the required top of bluff setback of 30’ and a variance of
12’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the addition of a craft room as described in the
variance application dated May 9, 2013 and as depicted on the submitted drawing 4' from the top of the bluff and 88’
from the ordinary high water level. The proposed development is farther back from both the bluff and the ordinary
high water level than the existing structure.
