EXPLAIN YOUR REQUEST
OUR PROPERTY HAS 500 FEET OF LAKE SHORE ON SMALL LAKE MARION. WE MAKE APPLICATION
FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW US TO PLACE A BOAT ACCESS, APPROXIMATELY
10-12 FEET IN WIDTH ON OUR PROPERTY AT THE LOWEST PORTION OF THE BANK (3-3.5FEET
DEPTH FROM THE WATER) WHERE INDICATED ON THE ATTACHED DIAGRAM. IT WOULD BE OUR
PROPOSAL TO PULL THE BANK'S SOIL BACK TOWARD THE OPEN AREA OFOUR LOT, SO THAT
THERE WOULD BE A GRADUAL INCLINE FROM THE WATER UPWARDS INTO THE LOT APPROXIMATELY
10-15 YARDS. WE WOULD TAKE THE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT EROSION.
I UNDERSTAND THAT APPROVAL OF THIS REQUEST APPLIES ONLY TO THE USE OF THE LAND.
I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT OTHER PERMITS MAY BE REQUIRED, IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO
CONTACT LAND & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT REGARDING THIS MATTER.

Kenneth & Evelyn Beauchamp - Approved With Conditions:
A Conditional Use Permit Application requesting: Our property has 500’ of lake shore on
small Lake Marion. We make Application for a Conditional Use Permit to allow us to
place a boat access, approximately 10-12 feet in width on our property at the lowest
portion of the bank (3-3.5 ft depth from the water) where indicated on the drawing
(available for viewing at Land & Resource). It would be our proposal to pull the bank’s
soil back toward the open area of our lot, so that there would be gradual incline from the
water upwards into the lot approximately 10-15 yds. We would take the necessary
precautions to prevent erosion. The property is described as Part of Government Lot 1,
Section 12 of Dead Lake Township; Marion Lake (56-243), GD.
Ken & Evelyn Beauchamp represented the Application.
Motion: A motion by Schwartz, second by Trites to approve allowing a maximum cut of
VA ‘ and a maximum width of 10’, provided rock riprap is installed.
Voting: All members in favor.
Steve & Denise Zimmerman/”Pine island Estates” -Approved With Conditions:
A Preliminary Plat of “Pine Island Estates’’ consisting of 8 residential Lots/ 1 Block. The
property is described as Part of Government Lot 5 & 6, Section 35 of Gorman Township;
Little Pine Lake (56-142), GD.
Steve and Denise Zimmerman represented the Application.
Eldred Elenberg (Gorman Township) indicated that he thought that when the lakelots
were developed there would not be any backlots. Wayne Lehman questioned the lot size
requirements. Marlin Jorgenson (Gorman Township) indicated that the developers
should have been told about the previous denial of backlots.
Motion - Failed:
A motion by Estes, second by Maske to approve as presented, it was noted that Otter
Tail County does not enforce covenants.
Break: Before voting, the Commission took a 10 minute break to allow Bill Kalar to get
the file for Pine Lake Shores.
Upon returning, Mr. Kalar reviewed the files and then informed the Commission of the
action taken by the Planning Commission when the lakelots of Pine Lake Shores was
taken.
Voting Yes: Estes, Maske & Sha.
Voting No: Boyer, Lachowitzer, Olson, Schwartz, Trites & Zimmerman.
