Mr. and Ms. Johnson This is a follow up letter regarding your property on Marion Lake. I did receive your voicemail message on October 24, 2013 regarding the restoration project along your shoreline. On October 29, 2013 I was on your property to view the restoration project. While onsite I did notice the area has a prpblem growing grass. The only way for this area to stay vegetated is to remove the sand and replace with black dirt, seed and soil erosion blanket. Due to the fact that November is not the growing season. I’ll extend the completion of this restoration project until the spring 2014. If you have any question regarding this matter please contact our office. Thank you. We included pictures of the before (old Cabin), during and after. No new work has been started since receiving your letter. But, all work with the retaining walls and patio was completed before receiving your letter. The permits for the cabin addition were pulled in ~Oct 2011 and built over the winter. As can be seen in the second picture the larger cabin size was causing wash out. We reviewed the information on line and did not see any requirements requiring permits for installing retaining walls or patios. We also reviewed the Rip Rock requirements and believed that no permits were required. The contractor who placed the rock also stated permits are not required for Rip Rock. With the exception for the stairs and patio blocks all retaining wall bricks used were already on the property, on the sides and around the top of the cabin, which we removed, when the addition was built and then reused on the hill. You also asked about the amount of fill or removal of dirt for the 14 X 14ft patio. The only dirt had to be moved was a few inches of grass and top soil to allow the packing of class five for the patio blocks. The level of the patio is the same as the ground before. Less than 10 Yds of Class Five was brought in to pack under the patio and the stairs by the house and Deck. The extra class five was placed on the already existing drive way. In your letter you asked about a white pvc pipe coming out of the house this is from the rain water draining system we have under the deck / above the three season/ screen area. While onsite, I noticed a newly constructed brick patio, a retaining wall and some rip rap/boulder wall close to the lake. Also, I noticed multiple retaining walls by the house. Our office has no record of any permits for this work. Due to the type of work and location of the projects a Conditional Use Permit is required. Since the project has already been started, you would need to apply for an After-the-Fact Conditional Use Permit. I have enclosed all the required paperwork for your project. While onsite I also noticed a white pvc pipe coming out of the house. What is being discharged from the pipe? Please contact our office on or before September 26, 2012. Family Services Collaborative Interagency Agreement Motion by Huebsch, second by Johnson, and unanimously carried to authorize the appropriate County Officials’ signatures to execute the Family Sen/ices Collaborative interagency Agreement as presented by the Public Health Director. Non-Union Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) Motion by Huebsch, second by Johnson, and unanimously carried to approve a 1% COLA for non-union employees on December 31,2012 at 11:59 p.m., and a 2% COLA effective January 1,2013.
