The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance: Bryce Forsyth - Approved the variance as requested with a condition. (6:32 p.m.) Bryce Forsyth, Lot 4 Block 1 Shenandoah Ridge, Hoffman Lake in Dora Township, requested a variance of 108’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the construction of a two season porch and to replace a portion of an existing deck, on the lake side of house, 92’ from the ordinary high water level. Proposed two season porch will be 20’ wide by 12’ deep. Prior to 2009 the required structure setback was 100’. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested, After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimousiy carried, to approve a variance of 108’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the construction of a 20’ wide by 12’ deep two season porch and for the replacement of a portion of an existing deck 92’ from the ordinary high water level with the condition that the proposed porch can be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing deck. The variance approval was based on the applicant voluntarily agreeing to remove the existing 10’ by 12’ screen porch. Richard Dombeck - Approved the variance as requested. The shed is projected to be slightly over the maximum overall height allowed for a detached structure. Upon the Andrews family moving into their house, I will be one of their neighbors. I understand there is a question regarding possible obstruction of the view of Stang Lake if this shed is built. In my opinion, any “obstruction” the proposed shed may do of Stang Lake is a stretch of common sense. It looks to me like the only obstruction this building would provide is limiting the view of the extreme eastern portion of the Stang Lake drainage system. This particular view is essentially swamp with no aesthetic value. Stang Lake is almost one mile from this building site. Again, as a neighbor, I would support giving the Andrew’s family their variance for their building.
