Referencing Tract A and most specirically “Reserve Lot A”, a request for a variance of 5 feet (S’)
from the Right of Way line which runs adjacent to Freedom Flyer Road to accommodate the current
placement of an existing 30’ x 60’ maintenance building that was provided under permit number
22604.
The building is currently 616 feet (616’) from the lake edge, has a 15 foot (15’) setback from the
western lotline, and a 15 foot (15’) setback from the Right of Way line which runs concurrent with
Freedom Flyer Road.
Hobart Township has verbally indicated that there are no foreseeable issues in the continued
maintenance of Freedom Flyer Road.
I UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE APPLIED FOR A VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE SHORELAND
MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE/SUBDIVISION CONTROLS ORDINANCE OF OTTER TAIL COUNTY.

After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Michael Harris and carried, with Randall
Mann, Steve Schierer and Rick Wilson voting no, to deny the variance as requested. After additional consideration
and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Randall Mann and carried with Michael Harris voting no
and with Cecil Femling and Paul Larson abstaining, to approve a variance of 5’ from the required road right-of-way
setback of 20’ for the location of a 30’ by 60’ maintenance building 15’ from the road right-of-way, 15’ from the lot line
