Motion
Marc Shannon - Approved
Motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to table this variance
request until the September 3, 1998 Board of Adjustment meeting to allow the applicant an opportunity to consider
other alternatives. September 3,1998 Meeting. The audience was not polled has no one was in attendance at the
time of this public hearing. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by John Everts and
unanimously carried, to approve the applicant’s new plan as shown in the drawing submitted at the time of the
hearing. It should be noted that the ingress and egress doors would be at right angles to the road. Hardship is a
substandard lot of record. The new drawing shows a 36’ by 20’ garage located 10’ from the holding tank, 12’ from the
side lot lines and 10’ from the road right-of-way or back property line.

RE: Garage, Lot 6 2"^ Addition Jerry-Marg Beach, Lake Seven (56-358).
Dear Mr. Shannon,
On April 1,1999, the Board of Adjustment denied your application for h Variance to
allow your "holding tanks to be less than 10’ from the garage. To correct the
problem, you must either: 1) Move the holding tanks, permit is required. 2) Move
the garage. 3) Appeal the Board of Adjustment’s decision.
Also, based on what was said at the Board of Adjustment Meeting, you indicated
that the 2"'^ floor of the garage was to be used for a work area. The Otter Tail
County Shoreland Management Ordinance does not allow non-residential
structures such as yours to contain a second story.
And finally, I still have not been able to verify the lotline setbacks. The lotlines
need to be staked so I can determine if the garage meets those requirements.
Please contact me no later than May 5,1999 regarding these issues.
