After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance of 24’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for placement of a 48’ by 32’
structure 76’ from the ordinary high water level as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application with the
condition that no more than 25% of the total eligible lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. The Board noted'
that the proposed development is no closer to the ordinary high water level than the dwelling to the north.

Mildred MacLeod Trust, Lot 13 Bowery Beach, Pelican Lake in Dunn Township, requested a variance of 60’ from the
required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for the placement of a 4’ by 2T deck 15’ from the ordinary high water ,
level. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration
■ and discussion, Michael Harris made a motion, seconded by Bert Kinizerand unanimously carried, to approve a
varfance of 60’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75' for the placement of a 4' by 2T deck 15’ from
the ordinary high'water level. The Board noted that the proposed development is maintenance to an existing structure ,
(deck) and the proposed development'will'not be as close to the ordinary high water level as the existing deck. - -
James H and Sally Ann Lehr - Approved the variance application as requested with a condition.

James H and Sally Ann Lehr, Lot 14 Hilkoske’s Second Addition to Pleasure Park and part of Government Lot 9,
Section 4 of Otter Tail Township by Otter Tail Lake, requested the following: The structure exceeds the maximum
height allowed for a water oriented accessory structure and is too close to the lot line for a lot owned by the applicant.-
Variance for height 1.3 feet. Variance for side lot line 8 feet. Jeffrey D. Pederson, Attorney appeared with the
applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no Tom Lehr speaking for the variance as requested. A
letter from Debra Habedank in support of the variance application was presented at the public hearing. After
consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Paul Larson to approve the side lot line
variance as requested and to deny the variance as requested for the height of the structure. This motion failed with
Michael Harris, Thomas Lee and Randall Mann voting no. After additional consideration and discussion, Randall
Mann made a motion, seconded by Thomas Lee and carried with Michael Harris voting no, to approve the variance as
stated in the variance application and as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application with the
condition that when the recorded ownership of the property changes the structure must be brought into compliance
with the requirements of the ordinance.

with the applicant’s son providing information regarding the placement of the proposed development. After
consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance of 24’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for placement of a 48’ by 32’
structure 76’ from the ordinary high water level as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application
with the condition that no more than 25% of the total eligible lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. The
Board noted that the proposed development is no closer to the ordinary high water level than the dwelling to the north:
Jon and Janet Storck - Approved the variance application as requested. (7:45 p.m.)
Jon and Janet Storck, Lot 34 of Nedberg-Nye Survey Lots of Government Lots 1, 2 and 3, Section 1 of Edna
Township by Devils Lake, requested a variance of 40’ from the required ordinary high water level of 75’ and a
variance of 15’ from the required shore impact zone setback of 50’ for the placement of a new structure 35’ from the
ordinary high water level. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested.
After consideration and discussion, Thomas Lee made a motion, seconded by Michael Harris and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance of 40' from the required ordinary high water level of 75' and a variance of 15’ from the
required shore impact zone setback of 50’ for the placement of a new one and one-half story structure 35’ from the
ordinary high water level. The Board noted that the proposed development will not be as close to the ordinary high
water level as the existing structure and the proposed location is behind the string line. Hardship/practical difficulty Js
a substandard lot of record.
