John Skonnord and Elizabeth Townsend - Approved ^ John Skonnord and Elizabeth Townsend, St. Paul, MN, requested a variance of 13’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the construction of a 20’ by 22’ garage 7’ from the road right-of-way. The property is described as Lot 27, Broadwater Beach, Pelican Lake in Dunn Township. The audience was polled with Carlee Meyer speaking to the variance request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and carried with Randall Mann voting no, to approve a variance of 8’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the construction of a 20’ by 22’ garage, having the main ingress and egress door at a right angle to the road, 12’ from the road right-of-way. Myron Carlson - Denied Myron Carlson, New York Mills, MN, requested the following: “Due to the current high water level, our boat house extends 4.5 feet beyond the ordinary high water level. I would like to move this structure back (South) approximately 18’ to the base of the bank. This setback would then give us over 12’ from the front of the structure, to the ordinary high water level.” Per the applicant’s drawing the proposed structure would be located 13’ from the west property line and 125’ from the east property line. The required setbacks for a water - oriented accessory structure are 20’ from the ordinary high water level and 40’ from the lot lines. The property is described as part of Government Lot 3, (Second Lot East of Public Access), Section 10 of Edna Township by Little McDonald Lake. The audience was polled with the neighbor to the west indicating that he had no problem with the applicant’s request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown and other alternatives are available for consideration by the applicant. Vincent Hohenstein - Tabled Vincent Hohenstein, Dent, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a 3.23-acre parcel into two lots. The property is described as a 3.23-acre parcel in Government Lots 2 and 3, Section 34 of Star Lake Township by Dead Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request.
