Motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as
requested and to allow the condition of the variance as approved on September 2, 1999 to remain in place for the
applicant’s proposed development. It was noted that if the boathouse was allowed to remain there would be two
structures within the shore impact zone and it was noted that the boathouse does obstruct view.

ATTACHMENT - VARIANCE REQUESTED
The applicant obtained a variance on September 2, 1999, to

the County approved adding a 12' x 12' storage shed to the rear
with the boathouse, and this would need to be removed as well to

In 1997, the Hanson family, owners of a lake lot which is
two lots to the south of our property, were also granted a
variance to build a new dwelling, also 40' from the OHWL. They
were not required to move their existing boathouse, which is 10'
or less from the OHWL. (See attached).
