Dear Mr. Schwanz;
I have looked into your questions regarding your fill request.
The area in question, although it does not stand in water, is
in the flood plain of Long Lake (56-388). As such, it requires
a Department of Natural Resources approval and issuance of a
permit before construction commences.
I checked with the local Department of Natural Resource staff
and they indicated you may apply for a permit but it was rather
doubtful you would receive approval.
It might be best to work and live with what you already have
along your rather untouched and unspoiled lakeshore.
