Motion by Huebsch, second by Lindquist, and unanimously carried to approve a Conditional Use Permit for
topographical alterations to construct a driveway with conditions as recommended by the Planning

Donald & Deborah Flatau Trustees - Approved With Conditions:
A Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant on the Application): Owners
request the following Topographical Alternation on subject parcels: 1. Construct an 800
linear foot driveway with cut volumes of 700 C.Y. and fill volumes of 550 C.Y. from MN Hwy
228 to building site. Driveway passes within 102 ft. of a delineated wetland. 2. Grading
and the construction of a Single Family Residence and shed with cut volumes of 1625 C.Y.
and fill volumes of 2800 C.Y. Both structures are outside of Bluff Impact Zone and meet the
required lake set-back. Fill, if needed, will be transported from owner’s farm land in Section
36 Hobart Township. 3. Restoration and stabilization of washout in Bluff Impact Zone using
DuPont GroundGrid material and aggregate over the re-grading of eroded channel. Cut
volumes of 200 C.Y. and fill volumes of 175 C.Y. 4. A slight knob approximately 800 feet
back from the shoreline will be taken down to an elevation of 1381 feet (600 C.Y. of cut to
be used as fill for the project). The project is located in Pt GL 3, (Doc. No. 1134793), 17.90
AC & Pt GL 3 ...(Doc. No. 1133034), 9.10 AC, Section 27 of Hobart Township; Long Lake
(56-388), RD
Don & Debbie Flatau and Glenn Howe (Anderson Land Surveying) represented the
Application.
Motion: A motion by Boyer, second by Gill to approve as presented, provided: 1. The
Applicant provides Land & Resource with a letter from the Natural Gas Company confirming
their approval of the project. 2. Land & Resource receives and approves, from the
Applicant, a plan that addresses the termination of the channel change. Voting: All
Members in favor.

County Board Room Layout Discussion: Bill Kalar indicated that the County Board has
been discussing options for room layout, including the needs of the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission Members indicated that they prefer to continue meeting in Fergus
Falls and that it would be beneficial to have a horseshoe arrangement of their desk.
Adjourn: At 7:34 P.M., Chairman Olson set the Meeting. The next Meeting is scheduled
for 6:30 P.M. on May 14, 2014.
