After discussion.and consideration, Rick Wilson made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance of 49’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of, 100’ for the placement of the proposed
addition 51’ from the ordinary high water level as depicted oh the drawing submitted with the variance application. It
was noted that the proposed development will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing
development. It was also noted that approval is consistent with past actions of the Board of Adjustment.
Hardship/practical difficulty is the unique shape of the property. The proposed development is like use to other
development in this immediate area. The variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances
for the proposed or future development.

OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
Thursday, December 10, 2015
The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, December 10, 2015, with the following persons
in attendance:
Paul Larson Thomas Lee Steve Schierer Ward Uggerud Rick Wilson
Eric Babolian, Land and Resource Management Jeffrey Pabarcus, Assistant County Attorney
Called to Order - Steve Schierer, Chair called the meeting of the Board of Adjustment to order at 6:30 p.m.
Minutes Approved - The Board of Adjustment approved the minutes of the November 12, 2015 meeting as mailed.
The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance:
Daniel Mecklenburg - Variance application approve with a condition. (6:32 p.m.)
Daniel Mecklenburg, part of Government Lot 2, Section 12 of Clitherall Township by Clitherall Lake,
requested the following: Parcel A is 3.03 acres which meets the standard of a platted lot. Parcel A became
part of a separate lot that was 5.68 acres. Requesting a variance for Parcel A to become a separate lot by
metes and bounds. Plan on use of the existing cluster development as is. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made
a motion, second by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested in the
variance application dated October 26*, 2015 and as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance
application with the condition that the proposed 3.03 acre parcel is for single family residential development
only and is not for development as a cluster. It was noted that proposed lot does meet the minimum
standard for a platted lot on a recreational development lake. The variance as approved does not directly or
indirectly grant any other variances for current or future development.

Tyler and Amy Blaine, part of Government 11, Section 3 of Hobart Township by Wimer Lake, requested
the following: The proposed attached garage and master suite do not meet current setback requirements.
The North (roadside) of the house is 58’ off the high water line. String line test staked by Land and
Resource was 8’ - 10’ north of existing structure. Proposed addition will be 51’ from the ordinary high
water level. New addition will tie into the existing roof line. The audience was polled with no one speaking
for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Rick Wilson made a motion,
second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 49’ from the required ordinary

level as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application. It was noted that the proposed
