Meeting of the Otter Tail County Planning Commission was held on May 7, 1997 at
7:00 P.M. in the Commissioner's Room, Courthouse, Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Roll Call:
Members Present:
Lachowitzer, Bert Olson, Robert Ronningen, Robert Schwartz, David Trites and
Leona Zimmerman.
Linda Bergerud, Les Estes, Fred Marker, Carl Johnson, Frank
Member Absent: None.
Karen Cooper represented the County Attorney's Office and Bill Kalar represented
the Land & Resource Management Office.
Minutes of April 2, 1997: A motion by Lachowitzer, second by Olson to approve
as presented.
Voting: All members in favor.
Robert Daggett - Withdrawn:
A Conditional Use Permit Application request as follows: Owner had previously
requested a variance to move the building within 5'-0" of the north property line to
reduce the required fill for providing access to the garage. As shown on the
survey, the property line is setback abnormally far from the roadway, which would
have allowed the building to be setback from the road similar to other buildings
nearby. This variance request was denied.
The owner has relocated the building within the required setbacks which has made
it necessary for additional driveway fill to be provided so that safe access to the
garage can be maintained The amount of fill proposed would be approximately 600
yards.
In addition, the owner is requesting a zero lotline setback for their septic system
due to height restrictions of property next to the lake. The property is described as
80' of Sublot B, GL 9, Section 3 of Hobart Township; Wimer Lake (56-355), RD.
A motion by Marker, second by Zimmerman to accept the letter of
withdrawal received from Robert Daggett (April 4, 1997).
