LeRoy and Mercedes Jacklitch - Approved
LeRoy and Mercedes Jacklitch, Richville, MN, requested a variance to subdivide an existing 200' parcel into
two parcels each having 100'. The applicants request that the vacant lot be considered a buildable lot and that
they be allowed to subdivide the parcel without a surveyor's drawing. The property is described as part of
Government Lot 1, Section 23 of Amor Township on Otter Tail Lake. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Carl Johnson, seconded by Craig
Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide an existing 200' parcel into two parcels
each having 100' of frontage with the condition that a registered surveyor's drawing will be provided at the
time of recording. The variance is being granted because each parcel will meet the minimum lot area and lot
width requirements for platted lots on a general development lake. The applicants had originally acquired their
current 200' parcel in two separate 100' tracts. One parcel was acquired in 1970 and the other parcel was
acquired in 1975. Since the one parcel was clearly a description of record prior to 1971 it was determined
that the applicants should be allowed two parcels of less than 2.5 acres, but meeting the minimum
requirements for platted lots.
Jack A. Nielsen - Approved
Jack A. Nielsen, Omaha, NE, requested a variance of 2' from the required holding tank setback of 1 O' for the
replacement of an existing 12' by 46' mobile home with a 14' by 56' mobile home 8' from the existing holding
tank. The property is described as Lot 2, Shady Nook Beach, Pickeral Lake in Maine Township. Scott Norton
represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against
the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 2' from the required holding tank setback of 1 O' for the
replacement of an existing 12' by 46' mobile home with a 14' by 56' mobile home 8' from the edge of the
existing holding tank with the condition that there can be no basement under the mobile home. Hardship being a
substandard lot of record.
Curtis W. Peasley - Denied
Curtis W. Peasley, Erhard, MN, requested a variance of 50' from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 200' for the construction of a 26' by 40' dwelling 150' from the ordinary high water level. The
property is described as part of Government Lot 3, Section 5 of Friberg Township on Anderson Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by
George Walter, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no
adequate hardship had been shown and other alternatives do exist that will provide the applicant with
reasonable use of his property.
John P. Condon - Withdrawn
John P. Condon, Fargo, ND, requested a variance to construct a road and a cul-de-sac not meeting county
specifications. On May 4th, 1994, the Otter Tail County Planning Commission approved the construction of a
road and a cul-de-sac meeting county specifications, unless the Board of Adjustment grants a variance. The
property is described as part of Government Lot 3, Section 24 , part of the SE1 /4 SEI /4 and part of
Government Lot 3, Section 23 of Dora Township on West McDonald Lake, The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request.

of Government Lots 8 and 9, Section 10 of Friberg Township on Heilberger Lake/Little Heilberger Lake. Prior

Joseph H. Dorn and Phillip M. Revering - Approved
Joseph H. Dorn and Phillip M. Revering, Parkers Prairie, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a 1.4 acre
parcel into two parcels. Each parcel would be approximately .7 of an acre. The property is described as part
of Government Lot 1, Section 22 of Parkers Prairie Township on Lake Adley. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by
John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide a 1.4 acre parcel into two parcels
with the condition that a registered surveyor's drawing will be provided at the time of recording. The variance
is being granted because each parcel will meet the minimum lot area and lot width requirements for platted
lots on a general development lake and because each lot is served by a public road. Substandard lots will not be
created by the granting of the variance request.
