On April 11, 2012 the Planning Commission passed a motion to approve your request. This
approval has a condition. Their motion is as follows:
A motion by Wilson, second by Maske, to approve as presented in Phase 1 (4 bins),
provided appropriate erosion control measures are implemented (plan must be
approved by Land & Resource), reasons for approval include - that it is compatible with
the surrounding area and it meets the requirements of the Shoreland Management
Ordinance.
On April 17, 2012 the County Board of Commissioners passed a motion to approve the
request as recommended by the Planning Commission.
Once our Office determines that the condition has been met, we will process your
Conditional Use Permit.

Motion by Huebsch, second by Lindquist, and unanimously carried to approve a Conditional Use Permit for
topographical work to accommodate a proposed walkout basement with conditions as recommended by
the Planning Commission. The proposal is located at Hoffman’s Beach Ely 14 Lot 18 & all Lot 17,

Dave & Deb's Subdiyision. Dayid S. Maikrzak, LLC- Preliminary Plat:
Motion by Froemming, second by Huebsch, and unanimously carried to approve, as presented, the

Motion - Lack of a Second: A motion by Gill to approve as presented, the Applicant may
relocate the sheds bringing them into compliance if he desires.
Motion: Motion by Wilson, second by Schwartz to approve as presented, provided the fish
house and storage shed are brought into compliance (location) with the Shoreland
Management Ordinance. Voting: All members in favor.
Lu Jean Schei (Purchaser - New Horizons) - Approved With Conditions:
A Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant on the Application): CHS, INC. an
agriculture cooperative doing business as New Horizons Ag Services with the main office
located in Inver Grove Heights, is proposing to construct a grain handling facility near
Underwood, MN on approximately 30 acres of land. The purpose of this grain facility will be
to receive corn, soybeans & other grain commodities from local producers. Hours of
operation will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday year around with extended
hours during harvest as dictated by producer demand. The facility will be constructed in
accordance with State & Local regulations & restrictions. Construction is expected to begin
in the Spring of 2012 with an estimated completion date of October 2012. Site preparation
will involve excavating, filling and/or leveling approximately 60,000 cubic yards of earth.
The proposal is located at Pt of GL 1, Section 6 of Tordenskjold Township; Unnamed Lake
(56-425), NE.
Quin Vincent (Consulting Engineer), Jerry Kramer and David Anderson (Anderson Land
Surveying) represented the Application.
Carrie Tollefson had questions regarding dust and its effect on her horses. Ron Gunderson
had questions regarding the height of the bins. Steve Nelson spoke in favor of the project
and its location. Lance Peterson spoke in favor of the project and its location. Bruce
Huseth spoke in favor, indicting it is an economic improvement for the community. Sherry
Gunderson indicated it is too close to the Underwood High School (safety). Tim Moore
spoke in favor of the project, indicating it would be a benefit to the community.
Motion: A motion by Wilson, second by Maske, to approve as presented in Phase 1 (4
bins), provided appropriate erosion control measures are implemented (plan must be
approved by Land & Resource), reasons for approval include - that it is compatible with the
surrounding area and it meets the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance.

David & Erin Schultz - Approved With A Condition:
A Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant on the Application): Put 1000’ of
driveway through property to get to building site. 14’ top surface with 4’ to T side slopes.
Max cut at 3’, max fill at 3’. Some fill from basement excavation used on driveway, excess
removed. Level area for garage VA' average cut and fill. The proposal is located at Pt GL
5, 6 & 7, 43.3 AC, Section 19 of Hobart Township: Rose Lake (56-360), RD.

• 2 bins - 300,000 bushels each; that are 78’ diameter X 88’6” tall
o They are the bins that say “780 Grain Bins” on the diagram
• 2 bins - 73,000 bushels each; that are 42’ diameter by 69’11” tall
o On the diagi'am one bin says “Wet Bin” and one says “Blending Bin”
All four bins will be used to store com, wheat or soybeans.
We would also have a grain leg that would be approximately 120’ tall.
There are also 4 bins on the diagram that say “1050 Future Bin”. These are for planning
purposes. We do not know at this time if we would ever put them up, but if we would
expand some day, this could be where we would want to put them.
