The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance: James M. Zeis - Application approved with modifications. (6:32 p.m.) James M. Zeis, Lot 3 and East Half of Lot 4 Shady Acres, McDonald Lake in Edna Township, requested a variance of 35’ 6” from the required side lot line setback of 65' for the placement of a water oriented accessory structure 29’ 6” from the east lot line. Appearing with the applicant was his son and daughter-in-law (Melissa A. Zeis). The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Randall Mann made a motion, second by Michael Harris and carried with Steve Schierer and Thomas Lee voting no, to approve the placement of a 12’ by 18' flat roof structure, having a maximum height of 9’ centered on the applicant’s property, which based on the drawing submitted with the variance application will place the proposed structure approximately 56’ 9' from each side lot line. The proposed structure cannot be placed in the toe of the bluff. Hardship/practical difficulty is the terrain, slope and distance from the dwelling to the lake.
