Messiah Lutheran Church, Underwood, MN, requested a variance to split off a parcel of less than
2.5 acres from the original parcel. This would allow the Church to have separate legal
descriptions for both the cemetery and the church. The property Is described as part of the
SE1 /4SE1 /4, Section 18 of Sverdrup Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking
for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by
Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested, with the condition
that a surveyor's drawing be provided.

Neil J. Qualey, Moorhead, MN, requested a variance of 31' from the required 75' setback from
the ordinary high water level for the addition of a 12' by 16' porch to the existing structure.
The property Is described as Lot 21 of Shirley Beach. Otter Tall Lake In Amor Township. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion
was made by Bert Olson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a
variance of 31' from the required 75' setback from the ordinary high water level for the
addition of a 12* by 16' porch to the existing structure. Addition will be no closer to the lake
than the existing structure and It does not restrict the view of the neighbors. Hardship being a
substandard lot of record.

of-way setback of 40' for the construction of a 26' by 44' garage. The property Is described as
Lot 1, Block 2 of Stoney Brook Manor In Fergus Falls Township. The audience was polled with
no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil
Femling, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried, to approve a 17' variance from the
required road right-of-way setback of 40' for the construction of a 26' by 44' garage.

Orby Hocksteller - Approved
Orby Hocksteller, Moorhead, MN, requested a variance of 100' from the required ordinary high
water level setback of 200' for the placement of a 14' by 70' mobile home. The property Is
described as Lot 1 of MInn-Kota Beach, Dead Lake In Maine Township. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil
Femling, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 100'
from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for the placement of a 14' by 70'
mobile home. Hardship being a substandard lot of record and the placement of this 14' by 70'
mobile home Is positioned well In relationship to other properties within the neighborhood.
