We request that the building setback from shoreline,for a house to be
constructed next spring, be 100 feet. The request is based upon the following:
1) Securing rights enjoyed by others - There are other residences on Anna Lake that are
between 100 and 200 feet from the shoreline.2) Unique conditions - Lot 5 has a steep bank which rises 20 feet from the lake.(see enclosed
map) This bank condition is found on no other property surrounding the laie. Because of the
bank, a residence placed 200 feet from shore would have a limited view of the lake. The
lake view is a major consideration of any residence constructed.
3) The proposed dwelling will replace two manufactured homes which have been located between
100 and 200 feet of the shoreline for approximately twenty years. There is also an old
farm machine shed and barn that will be removed at the time of constryctlon.4) The nearest neighboring dwelling is I/3 mile to the northeast. It is of our opinion that
a residence placed 100 feet from shore would not interfere with the rights of any other
people. To the best of our knowledge, this request is not contrary to any area policy
excepting the Shoreland Management Ordinance.

information about surrounding property, etc. APPLICIANT SHALL BE PRESENT AT THE SCHEDULED HEARING.
I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail County.
I understand I must contact my township in order to determine whether or not any additionai variances and/or permits are required
by the township for my proposed project.
