I ' Ms. Sylvia Bergerud Otter Tail County Secretary of Board of Adjustment Fergus Falls, MN 56537 Dear Ms. Bergerud: Subject: Variance to remove 700 to 900 yards of earth bank from the shore of Silver Lake to make room for a cabin. As owners of property on the North Shore of Silver Lake (Lot 7 Silver View Park), we wish to go on record as opposing the application for deviation from the Shore Line AAanagement Ordinance on Lot 6 of Silver Shore Estates. Our reasons for opposing this action are: The removal of earth from the natural shore line could cause erosion into the now clear waters of Silver Lake resulting in polution, growth of weeds and algae, and altering the water table. 1. Many mature trees contributing to the beautiful shore line would be removed or destroyed. 2. The natural shore line of Silver Lake has long been one of its outstanding features, and I feel that the property owners should adapt their buildings to the natural lot rather than altering nature to fit the type of building chosen by an individual. 3. The road was just moved to allow adequate room for the building of cottages that would comply with shore line ordinance restrictions. 4. We believe that Minnesota Lakes and Shore Line should be protected in its natural state for the benefit of all and not deviated at the wish of an individual. Therefore, we ask that you recommend against allowing the proposed deviation. Yours truly. Richard T. Jahr Joan M. Jahr RTJ/JMJ SCANNED R.T.-Jahr ' ■ ■?670 V/cjodside Lane St.Cloud,,KK L63OI.
