I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail
County. I understand I must contact my township in order to determine whether or not any additional variance and/or permits
are required by the township for my proposed project.

MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, that if within the next
four working days the staff of the Land and Resource Management Department can contact and discuss with
Rollie Mann variances from the 20' drain field setback and if an agreement can be reached with the Otter Tail
Lakes Area Sewer District then a variance of 6' from the required drain field setback of 20' is approved, if
contact cannot be macte or if an agreement regarding variances from the 20' drain field setback cannot be
reached then a 6' variance from the required side lot line setback of 10' is approved, for 6' by 24' addition to
an existing 20' by 24' garage. Hardship being the location of the drain field and the terrain features of the
property.

REF; APPLICATIONS FOR VARIANCES TO PLACE STRUCTURES CLOSER THAN
THE REQUIRED DISTANCES TO ON SITE SEPTIC SYSTEMS.
DEAR BILL,
THE OTTER TAIL SEWER DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
POSITION IN THESE REQUESTS HAS BEEN TO DENY THEM.
HAD SIMILAR REQUESTS IN PAST YEARS AND FEEL THAT THEY CANNOT
START NOW. I REALIZE THAT THE APPLICANTS NEED TO GO THROUGH THE
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT TO GET THEIR APPROVAL FOR THE BUILDING
PART.
FROM THE SEWER DISTRICT AND GET APPROVAL OF SAME PRIOR TO
STARTING THEIR PROJECT.
THE PROBLEM THAT THE SEWER BOARD SEES IS THE FACT THESE
GARAGES &, OTHER OUT BUILDINGS HAVE HAD A WAY OF TURNING INTO
BUNK HOUSES OR GUEST HOUSES OVER THE YEARS.
