MN • V80034M8701 , \\i MM:. i »K’. * MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT September 14, 2000 The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, September 14, 2000, with the following persons in attendance: Linda Bergerud Cecil Femling David Holmgren Randall Mann Steve Schierer Mark Steuart Pat Eckert, Land and Resource Management David Hauser, County Attorney Call to Order - Randall Mann, Chairman, called the meeting of the Board of Adjustment to order at 6:30 p.m. Minutes Approved - Hearing no corrections or additions the minutes of the September 7, 2000 meeting was approved as mailed. The following variance requests were heard: ^^rrnand and Cora Johnson - Approved with condition. Armand and Cora Johnson, Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance to convey the northerly 25’ of Lot 8, Maple Beach, to the present owner of Lot 9, Maple Beach. With the addition of the northerly 25’, Lot 9 would have a width of 100’ and Lots 7 and 8 would have a combined width of 125’. The property is described as Lots 7 and 8, Maple Beach, Deer Lake in Everts Township. John Christensen represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to convey the northerly 25’ of Lot 8, Maple Beach to the present owner of Lo 9, Maple Beach for permanent attachment to Lot 9 with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided at the time of conveyance. r’ Terrence W. Kepp - Denied Terrence W. Kepp, Dent, MN, requested a variance to construct a 10’ by 30’ screen porch onto an existing deck, which is built over the existing septic tank. The property is described as part of Government Lot 7, Section 10 of Star Lake Township by Star Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Linda Bergerud, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested noting that no adequate hardship had been shown that would allow for the granting of the variance as requested, other alternative sites are available and the potential risk to the health of the property owner should the variance be granted as approved.
