In order to properly evaluate the situation, please provide as much supplementary information as possible, such as: maps, plans,
information about surrounding property, etc. APPLICANT SHALL BE PRESENT AT THE SCHEDULED HEARING.
I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail
County. I understand I must contact my township in order to determine whether or not any additional variance and/or permits
are required by the township for my proposed project.

Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to deny
the variance as requested with the provision that if legislation, court action or a DNR policy
change, etc. results in an ordinance change or a different interpretation of the existing
ordinance the applicant will be allowed to bring his request back to the board for
reconsideration after proper notification is given with no additional fee being charged to the
applicant.

The Otter Tall County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, August 13th, 1992 with the following
persons in attendance;
Craig Anderson
John Everts
Cecil Femling

Tim Griep, Land and Resource Management
Wayne Roisum, Land and Resource Management
Wally Senyk, County Attorney
CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman George Walter.
MINUTES APPROVED-August 6th, 1992
Hearing no corrections or additions the minutes of the August 6th, 1992 meeting were declared
approved as mailed.
Th&following variance requests were heard:
Chester Neese - Denied
Chester Neese, Edmond, OK, requested a variance to have lots 12,13 and 14 of Beauty Beach
declared three separate buildable lots. These lots were combined as of February 5th, 1992 as
they do not meet the minimum shoreland ordinance requirements for lake frontage or lot area.
The property is located on Deer Lake in Everts Township. The audience was polled with Mr. Tom
Donahue and Mr. Byron Wolford speaking in favor of the applicant's request. After much
discussion and consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and
unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested with the provision that If legislation,
court action or a DNR policy change, etc. results in an ordinance change or a different
Interpretation of the existing ordinance the applicant will be allowed to bring his request back
to the board for reconsideration after proper notification Is given with no additional fee being
charged to the applicant.
Allen A. Tordsen - Denied
Allen A. Tordsen, Underwood, MN, requested a variance to sell Lot 5 of the Second Addition to
Birchwood Shores, which would then be forever attached to Lot 3 of Birchwood Shores, also
requesting that Lots 5 and 6 of the Second Addition to Birchwood Shores and Lot 1 of the First
Addition to Birchwood Shores be considered buildable lots. The applicant states that Lot 1 of the
First Addition to Birchwood Shores and Lot 6 of the Second Addition to Birchwood Shores will be
considered as one lot. Lots 5 and 6 of the Second Addition to Birchwood Shores and Lot 1 of the
First Addition to Birchwood Shores were combined per the February 5th, 1992 ordinance as
they do not meet the minimum frontage and lot area requirements for backlots on a recreaticxial
development lake. The property Is located on Pickeral Lake In Maine Township.i
