VARIANCE REQUESTED IS:
We are requesting a variance from the lake set back of 40 feet for the
following reasons:
We purchased the lot in 1968 and put the trailer on it in 1975. Our
present trailer is 8'x 40' and was built in 1956, is not functional
anymore and needs to be replaced. The replacement trailer is 14'x70'
and would be put in the same place, but will be extended to the back
of the lot. The front of the trailer would be no closer to the lake
than the old trailer.
The replacement trailer would not affect the site line, nor will it
change the looks of the shore line. This will be an upgrade. It
will not alter the character of the localtity.
Since our lot is a substandard lot of record, the property cannot
be used if the variance is not granted. We do not have enough land
to comply with the 100 foot set back rule.
We are on a cluster for our sewage system. Our septic tank is now,

In order to properly evaluate the situation, please provide as much supplementary information as possible, such as: maps, plans,
information about surrounding property, etc. APPLICANT SHALL BE PRESENT AT THE SCHEDULED HEARING.
I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail
County. I understand I must contact my township in order to determine whether or not any additional variance and/or permits
are required by the township for my proposed project.

MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried to approve ^®IP0i;RCE
a 40’ variance from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of
14' by 70’ trailer with the condition that the proper setbacks are maintained for the location
of water and sewer systems and the new trailer can be no closer to the lake than the existing
structure and that the side lot line setbacks are maintained.

out the sewage; therefore, it is and will be environmentally
safe with the replacement trailer.
The replacement trailer will improve the looks of the area,
will not affect the neighbor's view on either side and they do
not object to this.
