M March 24th, 1994 Page 2 The following variance requests were heard: Arnold Eugene Olson - Withdrawn Arnold Eugene Olson, Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 2.5 acres from an existing parcel. The applicant requested a variance from the subdivision controls ordinance and a variance from the minimum size requirements for platted lots on a recreational development lake. The property is described as part of Government Lot 4, Section 33 of Everts Township on Silver Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Fern ling to deny the variance as requested. After additional consideration and discussion the applicant requested that he be allowed to withdraw his variance request. The request to withdraw the variance application was granted by the board. Keith Eilreim - Tabled Keith Eitreim, Jasper, MN, requested a variance to create six sub-standard lots in conjunction with a cluster development. Each lot (parcel) would have approximately 3,000 square feet. The property is presently an existing resort. The property is described as part of Lots 1,2, 3 and the Southwesterly 12’ of Lot 4, Eagle Lake Beach, Eagle Lake in Eagle Lake Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. The applicant requested prior to the meeting that his variance request be tabled until the May 5th, 1994 Board of Adjustment meeting. After consideration, motion was made by Carl Johnson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to table this variance request until the May 5th, 1994 Board of Adjustment meeting. Michael D. Berry - Tabled Michael D, Berry. Clitherall, MN, requested a variance to subdivide Parcel A into three individual lots. Lot 1 will be sold to the owner of Parcel B. The existing cottage on Lot 2 will be moved to the rear of the lot and a new home will be constructed that meets the current setback requirements of the shoreland ordinance. The applicant desires to transfer 33' from the Ingress and Egress Easement to the adjacent property owner and to offer Lot 3 for sale. Lot three requires a variance from the minimum lot size requirements for platted backlots. A rough drawing is on file for review. If the required variances are approved the applicant will provide a registered surveyor's drawing. The property is described as part of Government Lot 4, Section 31 of Girard Township on West Battle Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to table this variance request until the April 7th, 1994, Board of Adjustment meeting to allow the applicant an opportunity to consider other alternatives. CHAIRMAN-1994 The first order of business for the 1 994 year was the selection of the Chairman. Motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Carl Johnson and carried to nominate George Walter. Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts directing the Secretary to cast a unanimous ballot to select George Walter as Chairman for the 1994 year. VICE CHAIRMAN -1994 Chairman Walter then called for nominations for Vice Chairman. John Everts nominated Craig Anderson. Motion was made by Carl Johnson, seconded by Cecil Femling and carried, to cast a unanimous ballot selecting Craig Anderson as Vice Chairman for 1994.
