Gary and Janet Kalding, Fargo, ND, requested a variance “to build a garage that would be 24 feet wide and 32 feet long as shown in the applicant’s scaled drawing. If I build it 10 feet off the property line, I will be only one foot from the edge of my drain field. If I were granted a five-foot variance, I would have six feet between the garage and the drain field. This would give me room for a sidewalk and would leave me some room to work on the drain field if I wanted to expand it in the future.” The property is described as Lot 20, Birchwood Shores, jPickeral Lake in Maine Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, second t?y David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 1’ from the required drain field setback of 10’ for the' construction of a 24’ wide garage 9’ from the drain field and 10’from the lot line.
