New element will be T by 2T over front door to minimize ice for safety.
4. The structure meets the non-conforming replacement policy for the replacement of the existing structure

Christine M. Garrett - Approved the variance application as requested with a condition. (7:42 p.m.)
Christine M. Garrett, east half of Lot 7 and all of Lot 8 Block 4 of Lida Shores, Lake Lida in Lida Township, requested
the following: We are requesting permission to raise the cabin and 9’ by 10’ deck 2’ to match new addition, which is
higher than cabin due to being built on hillside. The house and deck do not pass the string test, and the addition
does. Setback is approximately 42’ from the ordinary high water level. Kayla Garrett appeared with the applicant at
the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After
discussion and consideration, Michael Harris made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to
approve the variances necessary to raise the cabin and 9’ by 10’ deck 2’ to match the new addition as depicted on the
drawing submitted with the variance application with the condition that impervious surface coverage cannot exceed
what is permitted by the ordinance.
Gregory J and Denise Gerhart - Approved the variance application as requested with a condition. (7:45 p.m.)
Gregory J and Denise Gerhart, Lot 11 Silver Shores and Lots 9, 10 and 11 Block 1 Silver Shores 2"'’ Addition, Silver

1142-000) are permanently attached to Lot 11 Silver Shores (25-000-99-0694-000). Request to have Lot 9 Block 1
Silver Shores 2"'* Addition be split and permanently attached to Lot 9 Silver Shores (25-000-99-0692-000). Steve
Olson (Lot 9 Silver Shores) appeared with applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one

Richard and Kristi Strassburg - Approved the variance application with a condition. (7:50 p.m.)
Richard and Kristi Strassburg, Lot 72 Stony Point Trail, West Battle Lake in Everts Township, requested the following:
Drain Field: To meet the 100’ separation from the wells on adjacent properties, and to avoid constructing the new
drain field on the existing driveway, we are seeking a variance to allow portions of the proposed septic system to be in
the 10’ property line setback and in the 64’ road right-of-way for Stony Point Trail. (Stony Point Trail is a 12’ gravel
path that dead ends 200’ north).
Non-Conforming Alteration to Non-Conforming Structure: Existing 1964 structure is 12’ 14” width, 22' IV2” length, 7’ 8”
height (265sf), and 5’ to 8’ from property line. Repairs to the existing structure are needed including replacement of
the roof structure and repair and/or replacement of existing walls. We are seeking a variance to increase the height
up to 10’ to allow for proper roof drainage and adequate roof structure depth to accommodate snow loads caused by
snow drifting off of adjacent embankment. A portion of existing structure is recessed into to the 1T high embankment.
