Dohney Anderson - Approved
•i
Dohney Anderson, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance to subdivide an existing 5.83 acre parcel
into two tracts of less than 5 acres. One parcel would be approximately 2.55 acres and the other parcel
would be approximately 3.28 acres. The property is described as Parcel No. 3 of Government Lot 4,
Section 28 of Aurdal Township by the Otter Tail River. The audience was polled with Elena Winkels
and Bertha Huberty speaking to the applicant’s request. After consideration, motion was made by
David Holmgren, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve the proposed
subdivision as requested with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided. It
was noted that each parcel has a dedicated public road access, that there is a building site on each
; parcel that does not require additional variances, that adequate room does exist for two on-site septic
systems and that both parcels meet or exceed the size requirements for platted lots in this area.
Duane Matz - Approved
Duane Matz, Maple Grove, MN, requested a variance to subdivide two tracts of less than 5 acres from
an existing 76.22-acre tract for the purpose of permanently attaching these two tracts to nearby lake

would be approximately 150’ north and south by 250’ east and west. Both tracts would be restricted to
non-dwelling use. The property is described as part of Government Lots 1,2, and 5 and all of
Government Lot 6, Section 9 of Pine Lake Township by Big Pine Lake. Gary Schultz and Dean
Simpson, potential buyers, represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was by Cecil Femling,
seconded by David Holmgren and carried with Randall Mann voting no, to approve the proposed
subdivisions, as stated in the application, with the condition that these parcels will be permanently
attached to nearby lake lots and with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be
provided at the time of conveyance. It was noted that the additional property would be used by the
potential buyers to improve their sewer disposal systems.
Robert Cox - Approved
Robert Cox, Apple Valley, MN, requested the following: “Proposed alterations to the dwelling include
rebuilding the foundation, moving the existing front addition approximately 4’ to the West, and
rebuilding the gable roof over the addition; within 64’ of the OHWL. The existing setback of 64’ from the
OHWL and 16’ from the lot lines will remain the same and the roof line will not exceed the current
height." The property is described as Lot 20, Sanda’s Beach, East Battle Lake in Girard Township.
The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the applicant’s request. After
consideration, motion was made by Rod Boyer, seconded by David Holmgren and carried with Cecil

also noted that the applicant has a substandard lot or record.
