The addition would increase the size of the existing building for greater comfort but would not increase the capacity in terms of people living there. In addition to slightly larger rooms the addition will include a complete bathroom. In 1950 when this cottage was constructed we knew of no ordinance restrictions such as those in existance today so we built on the only level ground of the lots. For this reason the building is 30 feet from the shoreline. The proposed addition would be built on the North end of the cottag^ince there is not room enough in the rear (West) and the South would be unnecessarily close to the neighbors. We essentially satisfy all building regulations except the building set back from the shoreline. I am requesting a variance from this regulation. The neighbors with whom I have discussed this proposal have all agreed that this addition and improvements would improve their property value as well as ours. Thank you for your consideration.
