(8:10 p.m.) Kermith Dybdal, part of Sub Lot 3 of Government Lot 3, Section 21 of Tumuli Township by North Ten Mile Lake, requested a variance of 50’ from the required ordinary high water ievel setback of 200’ for the placement of a 26’ by 36’ storage shed 150’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience was polled with Richard Casey, Mark Dybdal and Margaret Thunselle speaking for the variance as requested and noting safety concerns. After discussion and consideration, Cecil Femling made a motion, second by Randall Mann and carried with Michael Harris, Paul Larson and Rick Wilson voting no, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship unique to the property had been shown that would allow for the granting of the variance as requested and noting the following: 1.) the applicant has a reasonable use of his property without the granting of the variance as requested, 2.) the applicant has an option to attached the proposed structure unto the proposed dwelling which can be located 75’ from the ordinary high water level, and 3.) there is adequate room to place the proposed structure at the 200’ setback from the ordinary high water level. After additional discussion and consideration, Randall Mann made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 5’ from the required side iot line setback of 10’ for the location of a 168 square foot addition or less 5’ from the lot line. The variance is requested because a screened in porch is within 30 feet of an edge of a bluff. The reason for the variance is to make modifications to the screened in porch. These modifications would include reducing the size of the screened in porch by 4 to 5 feet so as to increase the amount of land between the edge of the bluff and the screened in porch. In addition the present structure has a flat roof which drains to the edge of the bluff We would like to pitch the roof with drainage to take place away from the edge of the bluff Support for the porch would continue to be 4x4 posts on pads and there would be no foundation.
