Motion
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve a
variance of 10' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 150’ for the proposed expansion of an
existing mound system 140’ from the ordinary high water level. It was noted that this is a good location for the
expansion of the existing mound system.

Dear Sirs:
The purpose of this letter is for a application for a variance in regards to the sewage
system on my lot on Pelican Beach, Pelican Lake, Mn.
There currently is a four bedroom mound sewage system that sits between the property
line with my neighbor. The neighbor has a two bedroom cabin and I had a two bedroom
cabin that was recently demolished, and a three bedroom cabin is being built and it is
necessary that I expand the mound to add one more bedroom. My neighbor has granted
me permission to expand on the property line half on my side and half on his side. He
would prefer that I add to the back of the mound towards Otter Tail County Highway #9
The mound expansion would be forty feet from the right of way. If we add to the front of
the mound we would have to move three evergreens, five bushes and a flower garden, also
I plan to built a new garage in that area and there would not be room.
The location of the mound is approximately 140 feet from Duck Lake which is located on
the other side of County #9.
