I have taken elevation shots to check with the elevation shown on your drawing. The elevation shots check very closely with the elevations in inches on your drawing. The Road/Driveway to your lots have been cut into the Toe of the Hill many years ago, long before you purchased this property 6 years ago. The Hillside, along the Driveway had trees, grass and brush (small trees) growing. Someone years ago had built a field stone wall about 3 feet along the Hillside, where dirt was taken along the toe of the slope for the Driveway. According to the drawing, the attached garage to the house, will be into the Toe of the Hillside. The garage is about 38 feet long, with southeast 20 feet of garage into the Hillside. There will be a reinforced concrete wall starting at the southeast comer of garage going about 20 feet along southside of garage. The concrete wall will protect that portion of Hillside from errosion About 68 cubic yard of fill will be placed in attached garage area. According to the attached drawings, a storage garage is proposed about 75 feet south of garage and attached garage. The storage garage is in an area of grass and trees. The soil in this area is very sandy, so it has minimum or no water run off from this area. I do not believe a detention area is necessary for the storage garage area as shown on this drawing. I have reviewed the soils report for the sewer system design on top of the hill and taken some soil boring samples into Hillside next to proposed new garage attached to new house. See Sketch. The soils consist of small layer of loam top soil and then sand/gravel below. This type of soil does not slide, there is no evidence of soil movement along the Hillside, all along Lots 1,2,3,4. The Hillside along Lots 1,2,3,4 have trees, grass and brush (small trees) on entire Hillside. »-i \i- ’ The attached Plan shows a nevy? house Wattached garage.' The new house will be constructed in same location as existing house was located. The top soiLwill be removed and gravelfill , brought in, to bring the finished floor elevation oThouse,'a mdnimum of 4 feet above “Ordinary High Water” (OHW) of Pelican Lake. The Plan shows a grass water way to route water runoff from roadway area around new house to a detention area near the lake. This will stop water run off from going directly into lake without first being filtered through gravel as was before improvements. If You have any Questions contact me at #218-847-5918.
