Assessor and the MN DNR bk 072011-001 Merlyn and Janice Mindeman - Variance application approved as requested with a condition. (6:40 p.m.) Merlyn and Janice Mindeman, part of Lot 1 Block 2 Tradewell’s Woodlands Second Addition, East Lost Lake in Sverdrup Township, requested the following: proposing to split approximately 2 acres off a 7,94 acre parcel to create a non-residential backlot. An email from Jan and Monica Hanson in opposition to the variance as requested was read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Thomas Lee made a motion, seconded by Darren Newville and carried with Jack Rosenthal voting no, to approve the subdivision of an approximately 2 acre parcel from an existing 7.94 acre parcel to create a non-residential backlot with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided at the time of conveyance. October 13, 2016Page I 2 Wayne Stein Todd Sparrow <toddsparrow@rapat.com> Wednesday, October 05, 2016 2:17 PM Wayne Stein Hearing for Variance From: Sent: To: Subject: To Whom It May Concern: I am writing regarding the Susan Poolman request for variance located at 51377 Halo Drive, Pelican Rapids. My name is Todd Sparrow and my family and I own a cabin several units east of Poolman's on the east edge of Clearview Beach, we have owned our cabin for approximately 10 years. I am writing to say I completely support their request for variance. The lots were separate since the beach was established until only a few years ago. I see no issue with separating them again and combining them with their respective back lots. In fact it seems to make sense to do so. I have access to my lot via a small unimproved and likely incorrectly platted road. While this provides access to my property it runs directly through the Poolman's property as well as the other residents of Clearview Beach. I've often wondered how this access was originally intended. I've never seen the road on an actual plat or drawing. The Poolman's are good neighbors and helpful to my family as well as the other beach residents. In an age where we constantly hear about lot line disputes, right-of-way issues, and other neighbor related problems I can say the Poolman's as well as the other Clearview Beach residents are a refreshing change to this and tend to be helpful, friendly and courteous. It is for these reasons I strongly encourage your committee to grant them the requested variance. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at your convenience, I can be reached at this email or at 701 371- 1344. Thank you for your consideration.
