Timothy Thomas Crompton - Variance application approved with a condition. (6:33 p.m.)
After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Ward Uggerud and unanimously carried, to
approve, as requested, the proposed 240 square foot addition as depicted on the drawing dated December 15, 2014 with
the condition that no more than 29% of the total eligible lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces as stated in
the variance application dated December 15, 2014. The variance as approved will provide the applicant with
reasonable.use of his property and will result in an overall impervious surface reduction resulting from the removal of
all of the sidewalks and a retaining wall as noted on the above referenced drawing. Impervious surface coverage will
be reduced from 33% to 29%. The variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for
the proposed development.

Thursday, April 9, 2015
The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, April 9, 2015, with the following persons in
attendance:

Called to Order - Steve Schierer, Chair called the meeting of the Board of Adjustment to order at
6:30 p.m.
Minutes Approved - The Board of Adjustment approved the minutes of the December 11,2014 meeting as
mailed.
Chair and Vice Chair Selection -
Steve Schierer, 2014 Chair, called for nominations for Chair and Vice Chair of the 2015 Board of
Adjustment. Paul Larson made a motion, second by Ward Uggerud and unanimously carried, to direct the
Secretary of the Board of Adjustment to cast a unanimous ballot for Steve Schierer as Chair and for Thomas
Lee as Vice Chair of the 2015 Board of Adjustment.
The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance:
Timothy Thomas Crompton - Variance application approved with a condition. (6:33 p.m.)
Timothy Thomas Crompton, part of Government Lot 1, Section 11 of Scambler Township by Pelican Lake,
requested the following; Current improved surface is at 33%. Proposing to do a 240 square foot addition
and removing some existing sidewalk and retaining wall. New improved surface ratio to be at 29%.
Requesting a variance of 4% for impervious surface. The audience was polled with Paul Olson speaking for
the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Ward
Uggerud and unanimously carried, to approve, as requested, the proposed 240 square foot addition as
depicted on the drawing dated December 15, 2014 with the condition that no more than 29% of the total
eligible lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces as stated in the variance application dated
December 15, 2014. The variance as approved will provide the applicant with reasonable use of his
