Meeting of the Otter Tail County Planning Commission was held on June 21, 1978
at 7:30 P.M. in the Court House, Fergus Falls, VSH 56537.
Members present were:Portmann, Estes, Ryan, Jacobson and Lee.
Michael Kirk and Joe Cade also present.
Passed:A motion by Estes, second by Lee to approve the minutes of the
June 7, 1978 meeting as mailed.
Voting: All members in favor.
Passed:A motionby Ryan, second by Estes to deny the variance application of
Arlin Clemming, dated June 1, 1978 on Franklin Lake, No. 56-759, RD,
Sec. 28 of Dunn Twp. as no hardship shown.
Voting: All members in favor.
Passed:A motion by Portmann, second by Ryan to approve the special use
application of Merv McQuillen. dated May 11, 1978 on Jolly Ann Lake,
No, 56-370, NE, Sec. 18 of Eagle Lake Twp.
Voting: Ail members in favor.
Passed:A motion by Portmann, second by Ryan to approve the special use
application of Arlington Johnson, dated May 1, 1978 on Wall Lake,
No. 56-658, GD, Sec. 9 of Dane Prairie Twp. provided he makes a
ditch along township road and spoils are placed on lot and 8 inch
culvert is placed in driveway. Orville Anderson sppke to commission.
Voting: All members in favor.
Passed:A motion by Portmann, second by Jacobson to approve the preliminary
plat plans of Deer Valley in Sec. 25 & 26 of Fergus Falls Twp. subject
to approval of County Board. Developer is Donald Beltrand, Fergus
Falls, Minnesota.
Voting; All members in favor.
John Ferris of Dimmer's Resort on Rush Lake spoke to the Commission regarding
expanding his resort to add recreational units. No action was taken. A straw
vote was taken and the five members present were in favor.
Representatives for Helen Adams on Marion Lake spoke to the commission regarding
platting lots. No action was taken.
