Fairchild, Owatonna, MN, requested a variance of 5' from the required setback of 20' for the placement of a drain field 15' from the front of the garage. The property is described as Lot 4, Minnkota Beach 1st Addition, Dead Lake in Maine Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Bert Olson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 5' from the required setback of 20' for the placement of a drain field 15' from the front of the garage. The structure does not have a basement or any living area. The location of the drain field 15' from the garage still provides adequate room for the servicing and maintaining of the drain field. Hardship"being a substandard lot of record, Philip & Irene Olson - Tabled Philip & Irene Olson. Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance to split off a parcel of less than 2.5 acres with a frontage of approximately 105' on a recreational development lake. The property is described as part of Government Lot 1, Section 25 of Everts Township on Molly Stark Lake. The audience was polled with Jack Donelan speaking against the applicant's request. Jack Donelan read a written objection signed by himself and Robert Lee. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to table this variance request until the November meeting to explore various alternatives and for additional information, Roger N. Wilhelm - Approved Roger N, Wi.lhelm, Wheaton, MN, requested a variance of 16' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75' for the construction of a cabin with a width of approximately 30'. The applicant's cabin would be in line with existing cabins on Lots 12 and 13. The property is described as Lot 16,5t, Lawrence Beach, Rush Lake in Rush Lake Township. The audience was polled with John Schrom speaking to this request. A motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to limit Mr. Schrom's speaking time to two minutes. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a 30' wide building 20' from the road right of way. Mervln L. Freeman - Appreved Mervin L, Freeman, Rochester, MN, requested variances from the ordinary high water level and the shore impact zone for the addition of a 12' by 12' dining room and an 18' by 24' bedroom/bath to an existing structure and for the construction of a 24' by 26' garage adjacent to the existing structure. The applicant's plans call for the raising of the existing structure by two rows of blocks and for a basement under the 18' by 24' addition. In addition the applicant will be upgrading the water and sewer system to meet present codes. The property is described as Lot 9, 1st Addition Freeman's Beach and a part of Government Lot 4, Section 31 of Dead Lake Township on Dead Lake, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Bert Olson and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested as none of the proposed additions will be any closer to the lake than the existing structure and any excavation will result in water flow away from the lake. Hardship being a substandard lot of record.
