Neal H. and Joyce M. Johnson -Approved as modified. Neal H. and Joyce M. Johnson, Wahpeton, ND, requested a variance of 4.5' from the required west lot line setback of 1 O' for an 18' by 31' 9" two story addition to an existing cabin 5.5' from the west lot line. The property is described as Lot 28, Deer Lake Beach, Deer Lake in Everts Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. A letter from Robert H. Tolbert in favor of the applicants' request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 2' from the required west lot line setback of 1 0' for a two story addition to an existing cabin 8' from the west lot line. It was noted that the granting of a 2' variance would accommodate this substandard lot and provide the applicants with a reasonable use of their property. Sandra and Michael Doyle -Approved as requested. Sandra and Michael Doyle, Big Lake, MN, requested a variance to install a mound type sewage system 10 to 20' from a wetland and a variance from the required 24" separation from the normal high water level. The present separation on the north end of the mound would be 24" and the separation on the south end would be 18 to 22". The property is described as part of Government Lot 8, Section 25 of Dead Lake Township by Dead Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Mark Steuart, second by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested noting that the applicants proposed plan meets the requirements of the State of Minnesota, has been prepared by a licensed installer and has been accepted as the best location and plan for this site by the Land and Resource Department. Hardship is a substandard lot of record and the terrain features of the applicants' property.
