I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail
County. I understand I must contact my township in order to determine whether or not any additional variance and/or permits
are required by the township for my proposed project.

MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Berton Olson and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance of 6* from the required road right-of-way setback of 20' based on the letter
submitted by the township and a 10' variance from the required drain field setback of 20' for
the construction of a 26' by 30' garage. Hardship being the terrain and topography of the
property.

Robert Lawrence Johnson, Minneapolis, MN, requested a variance of 4' from the required side
lot line setback of 10' for the construction of an enclosed porch over an existing concrete patio
slab. The property is described as Lot 43 and the North 1/2 of Lot 44, Kimber Beach, Blanche
Lake In Girard Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 5' from the required side lot line setback for the
construction of an enclosed porch over an existing concrete patio slab.
Arnold H. Thompson - Approved
Arnold H. Thompson, Perham, MN, requested a variance of 6' from the required road right-of-
way setback of 20' and a 10' variance from the required drain field setback of 20' for the
construction of a 26' by 30' garage. The property is described as Lot D and E of Schwinglers
Subdivision of Lot 16, Oak Grove Beach, Rush Lake In Rush Lake Township, A letter from the
Rush Lake Township Board was read for the record. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson,
seconded by Berton Olson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 6' from the
required road right-of-way setback of 20' based on the letter submitted by the township and a
1 O' variance from the required drain field setback of 20' for the construction of a 26' by 30'
garaoe. Hardship being the terrain and topography or the property,

2.5 acres from an existing I acre parcel. The applicants desire to separate the home from the
other building located on this parcel. The property Is described as part of the NW 1 /4 SW1 /4,
Section 2 of Woodside Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and
unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested with the provision that a surveyor's
drawing must be provided at the time of the recording.
Jeanne C. Hovland - Approved
Jeanne C, Hovland, ET Al, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance to split an existing parcel
Into two parcels of less than 2.5 acres and to have each parcel considered a bulldable lot. Each
lot would have approximately 150' of frontage and 40,000 square feet of area. The property is
described as part of Government Lot 7, Section 11 of Pelican Township on Prairie Lake. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion
was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the
variance as requested with the condition that both tracts of land will have dedicated access to a
public road of at least 33', that a surveyor's drawing will be provided and that each lot will have
at least 40,000 square feet of area.
