The property is described as part of Government Lot 2, Section 20 of Lida Township by Lake Lida. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Rod Boyer to approve the variance as requested noting that the area requiring the variance does not contain a basement, that the slab is on grade, that adequate area for servicing the septic tank does exist and the overall plan is an improvement over the previous situation. This motion failed with John Everts, Cecil Femling, David Holmgren and George Walter voting no. After additional discussion and consideration, motion was made by George Walter, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown. Arilda Januszewski - Approved Arilda Januszewski, Perham, MN, requested a variance “to create a parcel less then 2.5 acres, approximately 144’ x 320’, approximately 46,000 sq. ft. with left over acreage to be permanently attached to 2.5 acres west of mine." The property is described as part of the North Half of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Section 13 of Perham Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve the subdivision of a 22’ tract running the full length of the 2.56 acre parcel with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided and with the condition that this parcel must be permanently attached to the 2.56 acre tract immediately to the west of the applicant’s parcel. David V. and Astri G. Matson - Denied David V. and Astri G. Matson, Milwaukee, Wl, requested a variance “to build a 32’ by 34’ dwelling on Matson Point having a lake setback of 64’ +/-, which is similar to neighboring setbacks of 62’ and 69’ on the same grade. This would place all three dwellings on this grade essentially in line with each other without compromising the required septic setback minimum of 10’. It should be noted that the present high water mark is not the “normal” high water mark which would add a few additional feet to this and other lake setbacks.” The property is described as the West 120’ of the East 1,120’ of Government Lot 3, Section 28 of Lida Township by Lake Lida. Letters from David and Betty Rossum and Larry and Carol Nielsen in favor of the applicants’ request were read for the record. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as the use of the string line will accommodate the placement of a reasonable dwelling on this property. James L. Ensrude - Approved James L. Ensrude, St. Paul, MN, requested a variance to subdivide approximately 23,678 square feet from an existing 2.5-acre parcel for permanent attachment to Lot 16, Merryland Park. The property is described as part of Government Lot 1, Section 7 of Rush Lake Township by Marion Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by David Hokngren and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide approximately 23, 678 square feet from an existing 2.5 acre parcel for permanent attachment to Lot 16, Merryland Park with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided at the time of conveyance.
